Gary K. Ko, CFA, is a finance executive with over 20 years of experience. Previously he was Vice President/Equity Research Analyst at Franklin Templeton Investments, and specialized in U.S. Healthcare stocks. Throughout his career he has been an important member of an investment team that manages up to $130 billion in investment assets. He had also founded two for-profit companies during his career. Gary had wanted to found a nonprofit to tackle unjust medical billing and medical debt since March 2016, when his newborn son was admitted to the neonatal ICU for a heart defect and subsequently subject to unjust medical bills. In 2019, he decided to execute on this vision, and founded CALMBA.

Canyon Chan, CFA, is a finance executive with over 25 years of experience. Previously he was Chief Investment Officer at HP Inc., and a Senior Vice President/Portfolio Manager at Franklin Templeton Investments. His nonprofit experience included serving as secretary, treasurer, and webmaster for the San Mateo County Chapter of OCA, and on the board of directors of the Golden Gate Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America.
